Supplies:
So that you can spend more time on crochet and less time on purchases, this pattern contains affiliate links, at no extra cost to you.
• Bernat blanket yarn – 2.5 skeins in vintage white (approx. 650 m)
• Tapestry needle
• Crochet hook size N [9 mm]

Caliber:
10 st in standard = 4 “
4.5 lines = 4 “
The meter is not critical to this standard.

Abbreviations:
dc – double crochet
chain – ch
sk – skip
st – stitch

Standard Notes: To increase or decrease the size of your afghan, start with a chain with a multiple of ten points (10, 20, 30 …) and then add two points to that number to determine your foundation chain (12, 22, 32 …) Every 10 additional chains added will increase the mantle width by about 10 cm.
Foundation line: cap. 92.

Line 1: sk 2ch (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 4 channels, * sk 2ch, 1 dc in each of the next 4 channels, 2 channels, 1 dc in each of the next 4 channels; repeat from * for the last 6 channels, skip 2 ch, 1 sc in each of the next 3 channels, 2 sc in the last ch; turn.

Line 2: 3 channels (counts as 1 sc), 1 sc in the first stitch, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts * sk 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, [1 sd, 2 ch, 1 sc] in 2 sp channels, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts; repetition of * to the last 6 sts, knit 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 sc at the top of the ch; turn.

Repeat line 2 49 more times, for a total of 50 lines.

Finishing: Secure and weave at the remaining ends.
