Crochet Rhombus Blanket

Welcome to Craft For The World, the site that always has modern content and that mainly motivates you to do new projects! How about a different step by step, in which you will have a lot of fun, colorful and that can help you exercise your memory, as they are repetitive points, that is, you will not have difficulties! For those who sell crochet, this pattern is very interesting, because having a different designer can attract many customers, both for their own use and as a gift for people with good handmade taste!

It can be made very colorful, to give a modern and creative effect. This walkthrough is very interesting, because depending on the way you see it, the model seems to change. In addition, this crochet pattern will help you relax, as repetitive manual exercises lower blood pressure, providing a sense of balance.

This pattern is quite simple, using the crochet terms in the USA. All lozenges are knitted in the same pattern of 20 rows, except for the halves (triangles) where you stopped after row 10.

For a blanket measuring 100 X 160 cm (The finished blanket weighs 1250 grams), you will need:

  • 45 blue diamonds
  • 45 black diamonds
  • 41 white lozenges
  • 8 half lozenges
  • DROPS Karisma
  • 4.5 mm hook.

Meter (10 cm = 17 AD) – just over 5 lozenges from a 50-gram ball.

Leave a 25 to 30 cm tail at the beginning and end of each rhombus. These ends can be used to sew the lozenges later.

Use the diagram below to see where you use the different tails:

—The first 3 ch on each row is counted as 1 dc—

Row 1: 4 ch, 1 dc in first ch.

Row 2: 3 ch, 1 dc in same stitch (where the needle points in top photo), 2 dc in next st (where the needle points in bottom photo).
Row 3: 3 ch, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in next 2 st, 2 dc in last st.
Row 4: 3 ch, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in next 4 st, 2 dc in last st.

Row 5-10: Continue in the same pattern, increasing in the beginning and end of each row. Each row will have 2 more dc in the middle.
After row 10 you have made half a rhombus. You will now start decreasing in the beginning and end of each row. Decreasing = crochet 2 dc together.

This is how you do it: (Yarn over, insert hook in next st, yarn over and pull up loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops) 2 times, yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.

If in doubt, watch the video… it can help you!

Row 11: 2 dc together (the needle in the top photo show where you will make the second dc), 16 dc, 2 dc together.
Row 12: 2 dc together, 14 dc, 2 dc together.
Row 13-18: Continue in the same way, making 2 less dc in the middle part on each row.
Row 19: 2 dc together, 2 dc together.
Row 20: 2 dc together.
